chillow

Ever wake up in the middle of the night and realize you've pushed your pillow off the bed? So you grab it off the floor, slide it beneath your head, and yikes!! It's damn cold against your sleepy little cheek. Yet strangely refreshing. Kind of delicious. That'd be a CHILLOW, folks. And like a chillow, this blog will be about the little delights in life that make me go "ooooh!" May it do the same for you.

Mimi and MiLa: related, no?

Chisinau, Moldova, June 2004. This photo makes me so happy--after a long day of reporting (Mimi and I spent two weeks there reporting on sex-trafficking) we found this kitty outside our rented apartment. We cleaned her up and gave her as a going away/thank you present to our friend and translator Cristina. MiLa now lives in the country with her Cristina's dad.
